The final teachers' and students' meeting of international Erasmus+ project "Music unites, art inspires"
On the 1st-8th of October students’ and teachers’ team of Kulupenai M.Valancius Basic school participated in Erasmus+ project “Music unites, art inspires” final teachers’ and students’ international meeting in Poland, in music school of Lodz city. Students of seventh grade Aureja Domarkaite, Skaiste Duoblyte, Auguste Gagilaite, Urte Stankeviciute, students of eighth grade Edvinas Zilinskis, Danielius Ruzgaila and teachers Jurgita Galdikaite, Asta Pociene went to Poland. We participated in the meeting together with our project partners from Spain, Italy, Greece, teachers and students of Lodz city music school “Ogolnoksztalcąca”.
During the first day of the meeting we visited the school, the organizators met us with an interesting and creative introduction, and they showed us how to use music instruments. After the presentations of the teams we enjoyed a concert performed by Polish students. We had supper in a restaurant where we were able to taste dishes of traditional Polish cuisine.
On the 4th of October a guide introduced the participants of the project with a five kilometers long Piotrikovska steet and its history. It is one of the longest pedestrian streets in the world which fascinates with its architecture. Students also visited The Manufaktura museum which is located in the central part of the city, in the former industrial complex founded by Izrael Poznanski who was a textile magnate.
The third day of the project activities started at school: students worked together in international groups, they made joint creative works. Later during the trip around Lodz city a guide told us about the importance of art and cinematography to the development of the city. We visited “Muzeum Palac Herbsta” where we discovered much interesting information about the Herbst family which was one of the most influential industrial family not only in Lodz, but in all of Poland. We learned about their input to the history of the city, students also were able to complete some tasks in creativity workshops. In the afternoon we attended a choir rehearsal of all the participants of the meeting. The president of the Poland National Erasmus agency came to school; all the participants greeted him by singing the anthem of European Union in English and their own native languages. This fun and full of experience day ended with an amazing classical music concert performed by Polish students.
On the 6th of October – the fourth day of the participants’ meeting of Erasmus+ project – all day trip to Warsaw. We began our trip in the capital of Poland by visiting the museum of a famous Polish composer Frederic Chopin. Later we visited places and historic buildings that were significant to the composer. We made a visit to the Presidential Palace where eight-year-old Chopin performed his first piano concert. The participants of the project were amazed by the Royal Castle – historic and cultural national monument – one of the most important place in Poland. We ended the trip to Warsaw by visiting exclusive Copernicus Science Centre where we could discover the secrets of nature. The vast majority of the exhibits were designed to touch and try in order to find out how they work.
The 7th of October was the last day of project partners’ meeting in Lodz. In the morning we attended educational activities in the museum of Lodz city. In the evening all the participants took part in the last event of the meeting – farewell evening, which captivated all the students and teachers. After the concert the participants had a superb discotheque with traditional Polish dances.
We came back home full of impressions. We realized and really felt that music and art bring people from different nations together.

Erasmus+ Project „Music Unites – Art Inspires“
The Erasmus+ Project „Music Unites – Art Inspires“ has been stopped by
COVID – 19 pandemic, and the main Project activities and international
students-teachers meetings have been postponed for the year 2021 – 2022. For this Christmas season, the Project teams in Greece, Spain, Italy, Poland and Lithuania have decided to present a Christmas Fairy Tale and introduce the partners to Christmas traditions in each country. In Kulupenai M.Valancius Basic School, the students of 5-7(8) grades read and illustrated the Christmas story about four angels – Angel of Goodness, Angel of Respect, Angel of Friendship and
Angel of Kindness. The story about a little girl who met four angels in the forest on Christmas Day, reveals an eternal truth – our goodness, respect , friendship and kindness to others are the main characteristics on our way to understand when our dreams can come true.
